Red Wine Variety

£14.95 bottle Grand Cape, Merlot 13.Western South Africa. Dense, dark and purple, this wine is packed with bramble fruits. Very good blend of three classic grape varietals, full-bodied wine displaying robust tannins, a warm finish, typical “up front” Australian wine.

Well at home in its native Burgundy, with supple tannins and a long consistent finish, there to enjoy. An elegant style from the “Vieilles Vignes” (old vines). £29.00 bottle La Madone Fleurie Gamay 2010 Cru BeaujolaisFrance. From the steep slopes of the famous “La Madone” hills where the vineyards are cultivated with great care season after season, producing wines of elegance. A lovely rich fruit palate complemented by silky tannins and the vibrant ruby colour from the classic Gamay grape.. £39.00 bottle Chateau la Croix de Gezzard 2004/6 Lussac Saint Emilion BordeauxFrance. The power and complexity ofBordeauxblends found here with very capable, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, all play an important role, as does the unique soil and climate. As one of the most famous appellations of Saint Emilion, the wonderful ripe Cabernet Franc shows the richness and elegant supple feel to Chateau la Croix de Gezzard. £29.80 bottle Moonvine, Shiraz/Cabernet/Merlot 2007 McLaren Vale Region Australia. The wine has real character, from the mystical union of the moon and the vine. The blend of these classic grape varieties has a magnificent flavour, full-body and rich cherry flavours. A biodynamic wine that really has a depth of style. £36.20 bottle Liberty School, Cabernet Sauvignon 2011, California. Dark in colour, with rich aromas of cassis, quite a “bold palate” but with mild tannins a subtle wine with a fine balance over a lengthy finish. £42.00 bottle Cloudy Bay 2009. MarlboroughNorthEast South Island New Zealand.. A rare and wonderful treat, but sadly, not always available, as the wine is on allocation, the aromatic and silky Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir is made in the Burgundian style. Enticing flavours of ripe juicy cherries and enriched by plush scent of oak. A supple palate with delicate tannins. The wine is virtually a “Cult Item” here in theUnited Kingdom.
